The 1st House: The Self (Warrior)

The 1st House represents The Self. It defines the individual Self because of the symbolism of the astronomical starting point, the Ascendant (AC). the AC is the point rising over the eastern horizon at the moment of your birth, marking the start of the 1st House. It symbolizes birth and sunrise. As the first domain of life, the 1st House naturally defines the start and essence of "I". It shows how you present yourself to the world, your appearance, first impression, innate temperament, and vitality. 

• Aries is the first Sign, starting at the Spring Equinox, symbolizing the pure beginning, initial action, and self-awareness of the entire cycle. 
• Mars symbolizes action, struggle, drive, and courage. It pushes energy outward.

The Self is not comprete with mere thought; Mars' active energy provides the power to manifest your will in the world. It is the primal declaration of existence. Therefore, the 7th House, represented by [Libra + Venus], is a domain where the Other takes center stage, not yourself. Like appreciating the beauty of a sunset, this is the "domain of the Other," where we seek synergy by observing and uniting with others who can complement our own shortcomings. Thus, the 7th House is often called The Others but is better defined as the stage or domain of life where we form Partnerships to unite with others. 

• Libra symbolizes balance, harmony, fairness, and objectivity. It seeks value within relationships, moving beyound the individual existence of the self (Aries). 
• The essence of Libra is to measure the reactions of others to your actions (1st House) through one-on-one relationships. the 7th House can be called "mirror" through which you gain self-awareness via others. 
• Venus, abright and beautiful planet, symbolizes attraction, beauty, and wealth.   

Ultimately, the 7th House is the domain where we enter into partnerships, such as contracts or marriage, to achieve greater synergy with others who have a reciprocal and balanced relationship with us. The conflict pits the importance of individual will ("I am me") against the need to prioritize the harmony of the relationship ("Us"). You stand at a crossroads: Will you wage war, or will you seek peace by finding a balance and compromise that considers the other person's perspective? Visually, it can feel like a gap that will only widen and cannot be bridged. 

 

Symbolon  cards are intended to be powerful psychological tools rather than fortune-telling devces. The goal of this card scene is to prompt you to recall a past experience or situation like this. By remembering how you acted in that moment, you can find your own solution. This can be achieved through reflection and regret, or by reaffirming the commitment you made at the time: "If this happens again, this is how I will respond." 

 

There is no moral judgement between the Self (Individual will) and Us (relationship and harmony). You will see yourself reflected in the mirror of the other person. The louder you shout in anger, the louder the mirror (the other) will shout back. If you turn your back, the mirror will only reflect your retreating back. 

 

The key is communication. The 1st House never avoids conflict; it confronts the problem. The 7th House listens and seeks to understand the other person. These two only need to find balance. Take turns: one moment for your story, and the next moment for listening to the other person's story. That is communication. Avoidance or making assumptions about the other person is never the solution.
